Productivity and Leadership

The Productivity and Leadership event was held on 24 June at Siemens House, in Congleton. The event provided case studies from businesses that have raised their Productivity levels, and also asked delegates to consider strong leadership as a critical factor in driving up Productivity.
There is a strong evidence base to support investment in leadership and management skills and productivity improvement. McKinsey and Company has demonstrated that there is a positive correlation between management practices and productivity, return on capital employed, sales per employee, growth in sales and market share, and stock market valuations.
The future growth of the manufacturing sector in Greater Manchester will depend on the extent to which we are able to leverage our strengths to accelerate the transition of our manufacturing base from the traditional, labour-intensive industries to a more capital intensive, higher skilled and highly innovative sector.
